![]() When running a standalone kit (no relay or canbus module), the HID product is relying on the vehicle's stock wiring to power up the bulbs. When installing HID, it is always best to select a relay harness regardless to prevent limitations from the stock wiring, and add a CANBUS style ballast/kit depending on the model (see below). Some vehicles even require driving for a few minutes (please do this safely during the daytime and not on public roads). Please check by removing the original bulb in question, start the vehicle, wait at least 30 seconds, and check to see if there is an error on the dashboard. This is a general list, and your vehicle's electrical system may vary. Double-Check First (bulb-out error messages) If the bulbs do not power on, try this first. Some vehicles have reversed polarity, meaning it will be required to re-pin or re-wire by flipping the wires either on the HID or LED system or the vehicle's system. This also helps to prolong the life of the product, much like a surge protector or battery backup does for a home computer. They can also prevent flickering due to the CANBUS or Decoder module, which is essentially a capacitor (type of power supply) which takes the uneven power from the vehicle and helps to create a more linear signal going into the new components. HID CANBUS version kits and LED decoder add-ons are designed to prevent warning signals/errors from appearing on the vehicle's dashboard after replacing the incandescent/halogen bulbs. Here is the link is cheap but they do the job like a boss really give them a shotĮbay.com/itm/401247740584?_trksid= is a list of Vehicles that typically require the CANBUS (for HID kits) or Decoder option (for LED kits). about a couple of months ago i purchased a pair of bi-xenon projectors and i did the retrofit to my factory headlight and man that was the best investment i could have ever done and the price for them is really really really low ill leave the link here so you can check it out for your element trust me if you want to take a 100% benefit of the hid do this and its really very cheap the only thing i had to do after the retrofit of the projectors was to purchase a new pair of bulbs but used the existing wiring harness and that is because the projector uses H1 bulbs I took the 4300k set but now i ordered 6000k set because the 4300k looks like halogen but 5 times the light output but i wanted some more like audi look so im waiting for my news H1 6000k Well in my experience here in my contry people doesnt care about the oncoming traffic i have seen vehicle with pretty big and nasty led bar on the roof, front bumper and fog all on at the same time and people here always drives with the high beam but focusing on the subject i have hid on my car but first i started with a good quality kit but with low beam hid and a small halogen for the high, after that i upgrade it to the current one you show in the video the high low hid with the magnetic mechanism for the movement of the bulb always using 4300k or 6000k bulbs i was happy but still the output is not the best besides that it was amazing. It’s night and day vs my stock halogens.(if you don’t have money maybe just buy some nice OSRAM halogens) Overall, based on the pretty good cutoff I have with my tacoma, if it has a good cutoff, then buy good quality 35w HID’s, aim it correctly, and be done with it. Much more even light output, with minimal spreading above.(there is a some but not enough to cause any issue) I have mine aimed low enough that in having them on my truck for almost 4 years, only been flashed at a few times, and those times are when on a hill when blinding is to be expected.(I get blinded as well by projector HID’s in such situations) I bought a nice set of Morimoto HID/ballasts and put them in. ![]() For my vehicle, it felt like the same brightness as the stock lights and were also too blueish for me.(Bought 5k but the guy sent me 6k on accident)įinally, after much reading about HID’s and how many said do not use them outside a projector housing with acceptance if you aim them low enough to not blind people. Next LED’s, I bought a nice set of LED’s because I wasn’t a fan of the waiting for HID’s to warm up. Stock halogens were rubbish, which is probably to be expected.
